Model RV124 ASDE3 Radar Video Repeater is a Nine bit Four Output Channel signal conditioning line receiver/driver.  The nine input signals are conditioned and synchronized by the input Clock line to remove any data skew that may exist at the end of a long input cable.  The nine bit output data can be synchronized either by the leading or trailing edge of the incoming Clock line and is selectable by a front panel switch.  A separate front panel switch controls the output logic state of the Clock signal; either normal or inverted with respect to the input. 

There are four identical output channels.  Each output channel consists of 10 ECL differential line drivers representing 10 re-conditioned input data; nine signals and one clock.  They are designed to drive 100 Ohm twisted lines into ECL differential receivers.  The front panel 10 LED display provides a convenient indication of the input line activity.  The Model RV124 is nineteen inch rack mountable and is powered by 115 VAC source.  Model RV124 ASDE3 Radar Video Repeater is being used to support the DOT/FAA's effort in improving the airport runway safety. 

In the Airport Movement Area Safety System (AMASS*), Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE) radar data is distributed to non co-located surveillance servers, workstations and display devices for data processing and fusion, aircraft movement tracking, and monitoring purposes.  The Model RV124 ASDE3 Radar Video Repeater has been used to serve such distribution function.  It receives the distant ASDE3 radar signals and re-generates four channels of differential eight bits of radar video data, one PRI/Control signal and one Clock signal.  The radar video data and PRI signals are then re-synchronized with the Clock signal to recover data timing integrity before being sent further down the line. 

*AMASS is an add-on enhancement to the host ASDE-3/X radar that will provide automated alerts and warnings to potential airport runway incursions and other hazards.  FAA's Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE-X) program identifies and reduces potential runway incursions.
